VANCOUVER ISLAND BREWING POD PACK

The orca is an iconic mammal of Vancouver Island. But since 1995, the Southern Resident Killer Whales (SRKW) of Canada have declined by over 20%. So, as the brewery of Vancouver Island, VIB and One Twenty Three West decided to do something about it. We created the Pod Pack, a series of collaborative beers whose packaging is inspired by the individual markings of whales from the pods.

To launch the beer, we created a series of concrete fins rescending into the ground and installed them at popular tourist destinations throughout Victoria, BC. The fins visualized the decline of the Southern Resident Killer Whales from 1995 to present day.
